Clements Ribeiro and Evan’s UK Deliver Plus Size High Fashion

I think it is safe to say that we have all spent our fair share of time lamenting the often dull and unflattering fashion options we have as a Zaftig Gal. Well let me tell you, it is time to shake off those doldrums and start dancing with joy! Long time high fashion veterans Clements Ribeiro have partnered with Evans UK to bring us the “Swan” collection. Are you thinking “I know that name, but where have I heard it”? My guess is that you (like me) saw Adele’s elegant retro loveliness at the Grammy’s and sought out who could have designed such a fabulously flattering and fun dress. That’s right, that little number was custom made for her by none other than Clements Ribeiro!

 Newly available online, the Swan collection skimps no details. Unlike so many plus size lines, they didn’t just scale up the sizes of their “straight” line. No no no, they did extensive research to identify the challenges and highlights of a plus size figure. In a quote from the line’s press release Ribeiro said,

“For our first range we addressed the different body shapes, with styles which are accessible but modern, with an emphasis on prints and femininity. It was our starting point, understanding different proportions and different needs behind a desire for fashion that is not different from the high fashion consumer. Far from being apologetic or patronizing, we celebrated curves and voluptuousness.”

Oh, and did I mention that the line has a heavy 1940’s influence? You know I love that! My little fashion heart is beating out of control for a chance to throw on one of these delightful frocks! Clements Ribeiro’s signature prints are loud and proud. There is no doubt this is the real deal. The collection is fun, sexy, flattering and….wait for it…REASONABLY PRICED !!

We’d love to hear what you think of the new collection! var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-38946326-1’]); _gaq.push([‘_setDomainName’, ‘zaftigtimes.com’]); _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]); (function() { var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true; ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();
